Chae Soo-bin to Star in Web Novel 'Flower is a Lure'

Actress Chae Soo-bin has been confirmed as the lead in the SBS drama '​The Flower is a Bait'.

'The Flower is a Bait' is based on a web novel of the same name written by Geon-uh-ryeo in 2021. It is a black romance that tells the story of a doctor who doesn't believe in love, a congenital psychopath, a woman who believes love is a grand illusion, and a man who cannot feel the emotion of love. The work won the Grand Prize in the Romance Web Novel category at the 2022 Lydia Awards.

Chae Soo-bin will play So Yi-yeon, a doctor who loves 'Namoo'. So Yi-yeon grew up lonely, facing discrimination and neglect from a young age, losing faith in love and people, and distancing herself from others. However, she experiences confusion as she witnesses Kwon Chae-woo-ri's pure and intense obsession transform into love. This marks Chae Soo-bin's consecutive appearance in a work by Geon-uh-ryeo, following the drama 'The Call is Yours'.

With this role, Chae Soo-bin will return to an SBS drama for the first time in approximately nine years since 'Fox Bride Star' in 2018. Additionally, Chae Soo-bin is preparing for the release of the Netflix original series 'Charge Me', scheduled to be released in the second half of the year.

The drama 'The Flower is a Bait' will be written by Kim Yi-young, who also wrote 'Hwajung', 'Haechi', and 'Celebrity', and its broadcast on SBS has been confirmed. Production will be handled by Why Not Media and Kim Jong-hak Production.
