Namgoong Min: Our K-Drama is Also Charming

Actor Namgoong Min is returning to a KBS drama after seven years. At the production presentation for the KBS 2TV weekend mini-series "The Completion of Marriage" held on the afternoon of the 1st at The Saint Grand Ballroom in Shindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul, Namgoong Min revealed his reason for appearing, stating, "​I had a good feeling when I first read the script, and I had a hunch that viewers would be able to easily immerse themselves in it." "The Completion of Marriage" is a crime thriller that tells the story of a man who engages in an extreme struggle with a criminal to save his wife, who was kidnapped just before their divorce.

Namgoong Min has established himself as a leading actor, winning three acting awards in four years for works such as "Hot Stove League," "The Veil," and "My Dearest." Regarding his return to a KBS drama after seven years, since "Doctor Prisoner" in 2019, he expressed his confidence, saying, "It was good to see recent KBS productions doing well and receiving love from viewers. To that extent, I am confident in 'The Completion of Marriage'."

In this drama, Namgoong Min plays Kang Tae-joo, a neurosurgeon who has declared divorce to his wife, and will showcase action as a pursuer tracking down kidnappers. He mentioned that, unlike his previous action acting, "It wasn't easy to express action acting because I was playing a doctor," and emphasized realistic action where an ordinary doctor struggles to survive in extreme situations.

"The Completion of Marriage" will compete with the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Chief Kim," which is airing in the same time slot. Namgoong Min joked, "I did 'Chief Kim' before, so 'Chief Kim' seems to be one step ahead of me, which makes me feel a bit bitter," but added, "Although it's a competing work, I'm happy that the drama is doing well." He requested anticipation, saying, "​However, it's a shame that our Saturday times overlap, but Sunday is also available. The dramas have different flavors. I believe our drama has its own unique charm."

Meanwhile, "The Completion of Marriage" is a perilous crime thriller about a man who engages in an extreme struggle with a heartless criminal to save his wife, who was kidnapped just before their divorce. It is scheduled to premiere on the 4th at 9:20 PM.
