Lee Jae-wook Helicopter Crash Blamed for Top Drama Ratings

With only two episodes left until its finale, the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Doctor Slump’ recorded a viewership rating of 4.8% nationwide for paid households, ranking first among Monday-Tuesday dramas and programs airing in the same time slot. This is a 0.3 percentage point increase from the previous episode.

In episode 10, a series of incidents occurred involving Do Ji-han (played by Lee Jae-wook), a public health doctor at Pyeondongji Village. A helicopter dispatched to transport a patient suspected of appendicitis crashed, resulting in the pilot's death. To make matters worse, Do Ji-han's diagnosis of appendicitis was revealed to be a misdiagnosis, and he received all the blame.

Afterward, Do Ji-han closed himself off emotionally. However, his ex-girlfriend Lee Hwa-young (played by Lee Sol) visited the island, and a mass food poisoning incident among tourists occurred, forcing him to deal with the situation frantically. His current girlfriend, Yuk Ha-ri (played by Shin Ye-eun), who has been watching over Do Ji-han, investigated the helicopter accident with Hyun Chi-yeon (played by Hong Min-ki), discovering it was a lighting issue that had repeatedly occurred on nearby islands.

Although Hyun Chi-yeon attempted to expose the truth, Do Ji-han's history of taking psychiatric medication became an obstacle. Ultimately, after hearing news of his suspension and the review of his dismissal, Do Ji-han fell into a panic. Yuk Ha-ri tried to comfort him, but Do Ji-han broke down, saying, "​It's too hard to hold on any longer. The island is too scary."
