Sung Hoon Returns as K-Drama Romance King

Actor Sung Hoon is returning to a romance drama after three years. He is positively considering an appearance in the new drama 'The Boss's Overt Taste.' The drama is based on a popular web novel and webtoon of the same name, and it is a romance story about Kwak Do-hyeok, a chaebol boss with everything, who meets and becomes entangled with Lee Eun-chae, the vocalist of an indie band.

Sung Hoon has been offered the role of the main character, chaebol boss Kwak Do-hyeok. Kwak Do-hyeok is an AI expert, but he is portrayed as a character who only trusts data, lacking trust, interest, or empathy towards people. Expectations are high for how Sung Hoon will portray this complex character.

This marks Sung Hoon's return to a leading role in a drama approximately three years after the MBN drama 'The Perfect Marriage Revenge.' Although he made special appearances in the previous TVING drama 'Gyeongseong Creature' and ENA drama 'Shopping King Louie,' those were works with strong genre elements, so they did not showcase his strengths in romance.

Sung Hoon, a former swimmer, debuted as a lead actor in the 2011 drama 'New Tales of Gisaeng' and has since been called the 'Romance King' for his beloved characters in numerous romance dramas such as 'Passionate Love,' 'Oh My Venus,' 'My Secret Romance,' and 'Level Up.' He also showcased his optimized acting skills even with unconventional plot developments through the 'Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)' series.

Sung Hoon, who communicated warmly with the public as a fixed cast member on the variety show 'I Live Alone,' expanded his range of activities by appearing in the short drama 'Careful! I'm Lady Boss' in February of this year. If his appearance in 'The Boss's Overt Taste' is confirmed, it is expected to be the signal for his full-fledged return as the 'Romance King.'
