Marriage's Completion Premiere Hits 4.6% Rating

KBS 2TV's new Saturday-Sunday mini-series 'The Perfect Marriage' has made a smooth debut, recording an average viewership rating of 4.6% nationwide for its first episode.

The drama deals with the shocking incident where neurosurgeon Kang Tae-joo (played by Namkoong Min) is notified of his wife Go Se-yoon's (played by Lee Seol) kidnapping by an unknown assailant the day after he served her divorce papers. Kang Tae-joo finds himself in a crisis, identified as the person who commissioned his wife's elimination.

The first episode depicted Kang Tae-joo clashing with his wife, hospital director Go Se-yoon, and his father-in-law, the hospital founder, over the hospital's operational policies. Kang Tae-joo prioritized his belief as a doctor to save critically ill emergency patients first, but this led to conflict with the two who emphasized hospital operating principles. Attempts to reconcile also failed, and Kang Tae-joo eventually served divorce papers, but Go Se-yoon left a chilling warning: "Perhaps if one of us dies, it might be possible."

Later, Kang Tae-joo is horrified to receive a video from the kidnapper showing him drunkenly requesting a ride-share driver to eliminate his wife. The kidnapper demands 1 billion won as a condition for his wife's safety and threatens him to prepare the ransom within three hours. Enraged by Kang Tae-joo's attempt to inform the police, the kidnapper reduces the time to one hour, and Kang Tae-joo heads to the bank to save his wife.

While preparing the ransom and heading to the meeting spot, Kang Tae-joo is involved in a collision with a motorcyclist. The first episode concluded with the motorcyclist at the accident scene brandishing a stun gun at Kang Tae-joo, asking, "Did you bring my 1 billion won?" heightening anticipation for the next episode.
