Kim Manager Hits 21.6% Ratings

The SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Chief Kim' has surpassed the "dream viewership rating" of 20%, recording a nationwide viewership rating of 21.6% in just four episodes. This marks the first drama to exceed 20% in approximately two years since 2024, and it has climbed to third place in SBS Friday-Saturday drama history, following 'The Penthouse 2' (29.2%) and 'The Fiery Priest' (22%). The 2049 viewership rating also proved its high topicality, averaging 7.6% and peaking at 8.81%. Notably, the drama showed a faster rise in viewership ratings than 'The Fiery Priest,' 'Stove League,' and 'The Penthouse 2,' demonstrating the burgeoning 'Chief Kim' syndrome.

The fourth episode depicted Chief Kim's (So Ji-sub) desperate pursuit to find his daughter Min-ji (Seo Soo-min). Despite being shot, Chief Kim raced to save his daughter. Seong Han-su (Choi Dae-hoon) dealt with the mole rat (Won Hyun-jun) for his friend and jumped into the river, while Park Jin-cheol (Yoon Kyung-ho) chose to turn himself in. During this process, Chief Kim's past from 28 years ago and his story of becoming a legendary agent were revealed, along with the secret surrounding Park Young-gwang's (Ok Taec-yeon) death.

Returning to the present, Chief Kim narrowly escaped death amidst threats from Park Young-gwang's brother, Park Kang-seong (Kim Sung-kyu). With the help of Jeong Sang-ah (Son Na-eun) and the laundromat owner (Park Jin-woo), Chief Kim overcame the crisis and, upon learning of his daughter's kidnapping, continued the pursuit with Seong Han-su. Park Jin-cheol also joined, completing the "Daddy Universe," and although they secured crucial evidence, a sudden explosion occurred. Seong Han-su pushed the mole rat into the river and jumped in himself, while Park Jin-cheol opted for arrest.

Meanwhile, the revelation that Min-ji, who was presumed dead, was alive shocked viewers. Chief Kim headed to Myeongpo Port to rescue Min-ji, but she found herself in danger again, facing Geum-i-ppal (Jo Bok-rae) in a cold storage room. The tension reached its peak with the appearance of Park Kang-seong at Myeongpo Port. With the fates of Seong Han-su and Park Jin-cheol also uncertain, the episode left viewers curious about the "daddy's cooperation" that would unfold in the next installment.
