So Ji-sub's 'The Office' Hits 18.8% Rating

The SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Chief Kim' broke its own viewership record with 18.8% in its third episode. This figure, based on Nielsen Korea's national household ratings, is a 3.1 percentage point increase from the previous episode. 'Chief Kim' recorded the highest viewership ratings among all programs in its time slot and across all channels for the week, and its 2049 viewership rating also reached a high of 7.5%, proving its popularity.

The third episode depicted Chief Kim's (So Ji-sub) desperate struggle to find his missing daughter, Min-ji (Seo Soo-min). His friends Sung Han-soo (Choi Dae-hoon) and Park Jin-chul (Yoon Kyung-ho) aided him on his journey. Chief Kim tracked Min-ji's whereabouts while dealing with the delinquents who took her phone and agents from the Special Mission Agency who came looking for him. Park Jin-chul, having escaped from the detention center, informed Chief Kim that North Korean agent Park Kang-sung (Kim Sung-kyu) had entered the country.

After a bloody fight, Chief Kim succeeded in subduing the gang members holding Min-ji captive, but he faced a crisis when he encountered Park Kang-sung, who aimed a gun at him. At the end of the broadcast, there was a twist revealing that Chief Kim's colleague Jung Sang-ah (Son Na-eun) and the laundromat owner (Park Jin-woo) were actually secret agents monitoring Chief Kim.

The past daily lives of Chief Kim and Min-ji were revealed, depicting warm memories of the father and daughter, which made Chief Kim's current desperate search for his daughter even more poignant. Chief Kim, who had escaped from the police station, defeated the Special Mission Agency agents with his friend Sung Han-soo. Park Jin-chul engaged in a bloody fight with Park Kang-sung at Chief Kim's house but let Park Kang-sung escape.

Chief Kim and Sung Han-soo followed Min-ji's phone signal, and after subduing the gang members, Chief Kim recovered the phone. However, upon learning of Min-ji's lonely and difficult time through the phone, Chief Kim shed tears of deep guilt. The broadcast concluded with a tense ending as Park Kang-sung aimed a gun at Chief Kim.
