Voice Actor Kang Hee-sun's 20-Year 'Bong Mi-sun' Dies

Voice actor Kang Hee-sun passed away on the 4th at around 2:10 AM due to an illness. She was 65 years old. According to her family, she passed away at Sanggye Paik Hospital of Inje University.

Voice actor Kang Hee-sun debuted in 1979 as a KBS 14th-term voice actor. She went on to voice numerous foreign films and animations, and in the 2000s, she took on the role of Misae Nohara in 'Crayon Shin-chan,' voicing the character for over 20 years.

Beyond simply acting as a character, she became the most familiar 'mother's voice' to many. Her scolding and laughter, heard from beyond the TV on the way home from school or on holiday mornings, are intertwined with warm memories, and Misae Nohara is remembered by viewers as more than a character, but as family and a neighbor.

Her colleagues and countless fans are expressing deep condolences over the sudden news of her passing, after a lifetime dedicated to voice acting. Voice actor Kang Hee-sun was also beloved by the public for her voice as Anne Shirley in 'Anne of Green Gables.' She joined TBC as a 10th-term voice actor in 1979 and was active in numerous animations such as 'Anne of Green Gables,' 'The Rose of Versailles,' and 'Ghost in the Shell.' Furthermore, during the golden age of foreign film dubbing in the 1980s and 1990s, she was the dedicated voice actor for Hollywood stars like Sharon Stone, Julia Roberts, and Nicole Kidman.
