Lee Sook-cam Hiatus, JTBC World Cup Schedule Continues

JTBC has temporarily suspended broadcasts of 'Divorce Conciliation Camp' and 'Swindlers,' while maintaining its programming related to the 2026 FIFA North, Central American, and Caribbean World Cup.

JTBC officially announced on the 2nd, "'Swindlers' and 'Divorce Conciliation Camp' will be on hiatus due to the 2026 FIFA North, Central American, and Caribbean World Cup schedule." Consequently, '2026 FIFA North, Central American, and Caribbean World Cup Match Review' is scheduled to air at 8:50 PM, followed by 'World Cup Today' at 10:50 PM.

Previously, on June 23rd, JTBC had also put 'Han Moon-chul's Black Box Review' and 'Swindlers' on hiatus due to the 2026 FIFA North, Central American, and Caribbean World Cup schedule, replacing them with World Cup reruns.

JTBC declared a default on June 12th, failing to repay a 20.6 billion won ($15 million USD) liquidity loan upon maturity. At the time, JTBC stated, "We will do our utmost to resolve this situation as quickly as possible with a responsible attitude, utilizing all available internal and external means," and added, "Broadcasting content production and airing, including news and major sports broadcasts, will continue to operate normally."

Five affiliates of the JoongAng Group, including JTBC, are facing financial crisis. JoongAng Holdings, Contentree JoongAng, JoongAng P&I, and Megabox JoongAng have already filed for rehabilitation proceedings, and JTBC has also submitted a rehabilitation application to the court.
