Fantagio, a comprehensive entertainment company, is gaining attention for its content business success with the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Chief Detective 1958." The content production investment strategy pursued by Chairman Namkoong-yeon is bearing fruit, strengthening the company's direction for business expansion.

"Chief Detective 1958," co-produced by Fantagio, received an explosive response from its very first broadcast. The second episode, aired on April 27, recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 15.7% according to Nielsen Korea, achieving the highest viewership rating for an SBS drama in 2024. The metropolitan area viewership rating reached 15.9%, with a peak moment rating of 18.1%, making it the highest-rated program across all channels and genres. Notably, it marked the best performance for an SBS drama since 2021 based on its first week of broadcast.

This achievement is being recognized as proof of the competitiveness of Fantagio's content-centric business strategy. Previously known primarily for its actor management, Fantagio has been undergoing a transformation into a comprehensive content company by expanding its business areas to include performances, dramas, and content production.

At the heart of this transformation lies Chairman Namkoong-yeon's long-term investment strategy. Chairman Nam has focused on laying the foundation for corporate growth by continuously investing in securing its own IP and strengthening content production capabilities, rather than prioritizing short-term profits.
