Gong Hyo-jin's Action Comedy: A Hitwoman's Tale

MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Killer Wife' will premiere on Friday, July 31st at 9:50 PM. This drama depicts the fierce struggle of a working mom with the world's most dangerous job to maintain her work-life balance.

In the drama, Gong Hyo-jin plays Yoo Bo-na, a legendary killer who neutralizes vicious criminals with a single shot. Yoo Bo-na is known as 'one shot, one kill' for her outstanding sniping skills, and she is also the top-performing sales team leader at Durumi Electronics. Due to her ability to aim from high places and move in an instant, she earned the nickname '​Kingfisher'.

The premise that the Kingfisher, once a legend in the killer industry, suddenly disappeared due to childbirth and childcare offers a fresh twist on the existing noir genre. Yoo Bo-na is a cold and perfect professional on missions, but at home, she lives as an ordinary wife and mother, possessing contrasting charms. Gong Hyo-jin is expected to complete this multi-dimensional character by freely navigating these opposing facets.

Yoo Bo-na's daily life is also filled with relatable, realistic points. Despite her busy schedule juggling company work, childcare, her in-laws, and her own family, she is depicted struggling to protect her family's peace. Living with her husband Kwon Tae-sung (played by Jung Joon-won) and daughter Kwon Yul (played by Hwang Bom-yi), and having to look after her formidable mother-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Yoo Bo-na discovers a new meaning in life.

Furthermore, Gong Hyo-jin plans to delicately portray Yoo Bo-na's complex inner changes as she returns to the field after maternity leave. The character's double life, simultaneously managing ordinary daily routines and life-threatening missions, is expected to add tension and excitement to the drama.
