100 Days of Lies Teaser Drops

tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama '100 Days of Lies' has unveiled its first teaser video, lifting the veil on the upcoming series. This drama is a spy romance set in Gyeongseong in 1932, depicting the dangerous and precarious love between Gyeongseong's top pickpocket, who infiltrates disguised as an interpreter for the Government-General of Korea, and the Governor-General's adopted son, a new interpreter at the Government-General, along with their aspirations for independence.

'100 Days of Lies' is a collaboration between director Yoo In-sik, who helmed series like 'Dr. Romantic' and 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo,' and writer Ryu Bo-ri of 'Do You Like Brahms?'. The main cast is rounded out by Kim Yoo-jung, Park Jin-young, Kim Mi-kyung, Lee Moo-saeng, and Jin Sun-kyu. Kim Yoo-jung plays 'Lee Ga-kyung,' Gyeongseong's top pickpocket who infiltrates the Government-General for 100 days disguised as an interpreter. Park Jin-young takes on the role of 'Kim Tae-woong,' the adopted son of the Governor-General and a new interpreter at the Government-General. Kim Mi-kyung portrays 'Yoo So-ran,' a sniper for the anti-Japanese organization Gukudan. Lee Moo-saeng plays 'Yoo Philip,' a Gyeongseong correspondent for an American media company, and Jin Sun-kyu embodies 'Sato Shinichi,' the second-in-command of the Government-General and a target of Gukudan.

The teaser video, released 100 days before the first broadcast, vividly captures the scenery of Gyeongseong in 1932, the exterior of the Government-General, and the bustling Gyeongseong Station filled with Koreans and Japanese police, immediately drawing attention. Furthermore, it heightens anticipation for the drama by showcasing the tense moments of characters hiding their true intentions and foreshadowing the fateful encounter between Lee Ga-kyung and Kim Tae-woong, whose destinies become unpredictably intertwined.

The drama is expected to offer a fresh form of entertainment through the theme of interpretation and the setup of an independence activist planted as a spy deep within enemy territory. Given the past success of productions dealing with the Japanese colonial era and spies, attention is focused on whether '100 Days of Lies' can continue this successful trend. tvN announced its first broadcast schedule for October and confirmed the commencement of full-scale filming and post-production.
