K-Drama Star So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho Tease New Project

In the third episode of SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Doctor Slump', Manager Kim (So Ji-sub), Sung Han-soo (Choi Dae-hoon), and Park Jin-cheol (Yoon Kyung-ho) began to cooperate to find Manager Kim's daughter, Kim Min-ji (Seo Soo-min). Manager Kim received a message stating his daughter was dead, but when his daughter's phone rang, he instinctively realized she had been kidnapped and asked Sung Han-soo for help. Sung Han-soo readily accepted Manager Kim's request and began tracking the phone, while Park Jin-cheol, upon hearing about Kim Min-ji's kidnapping, joined them in anger.

The three headed to where a group of thugs were located, guided by the tracking of Kim Min-ji's phone. With Sung Han-soo's help, Manager Kim confronted the leader of the thugs and interrogated him about Kim Min-ji's phone. The leader said Kim Min-ji had no friends and seemed to be using him as a "school errand boy." Hearing this, Manager Kim belatedly realized his daughter was a victim of school violence and wept uncontrollably. Sung Han-soo comforted Manager Kim and encouraged him to focus on finding Min-ji.

Just as Manager Kim was trying to compose himself, Park Kang-sung (Kim Sung-kyu) suddenly appeared and pointed a gun at the back of Manager Kim's head, raising the tension to its peak.

Meanwhile, 'Doctor Slump' surpassed a nationwide viewership rating of 15% in just two episodes after its premiere, emerging as the most talked-about drama of 2026. This is a record not seen in about five years since 'The Penthouse 3' in 2021. It also ranked first among all programs in the 2049 viewership rating with 5.8%. On Netflix's global rankings, it reached 3rd place, entered the TOP10 in 90 countries, and topped the charts in 8 countries. The drama is receiving praise for building a new genre called 'Daddy Universe' beyond a simple action series.

Director Lee Seung-young introduced 'Doctor Slump' as a work depicting the process of an ordinary father becoming a dangerous man to protect his daughter. So Ji-sub stated he chose the project due to his craving for action dramas and the challenge of portraying a father's emotions. Choi Dae-hoon and Yoon Kyung-ho said they were drawn to the world of 'Daddy Universe' and the chemistry with So Ji-sub and Choi Dae-hoon, which led them to join the cast. The three actors have foreshadowed that they will deliver catharsis and exhilaration to viewers by showcasing their distinct action styles.
