So Ji Sub's Terrifying 'Mr. Kim' Performance

SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Manager Kim' is set to premiere on June 26th, meeting viewers. This drama is a revenge action piece about an ordinary father who transforms into the world's most dangerous being to find his missing daughter. Based on the Naver webtoon of the same name, the script was written by Nam Dae-joong, known for the films 'The Wish' and 'First Ride,' and directed by Lee Seung-young and newcomer Lee So-eun.

So Ji-sub takes on the titular role of Manager Kim, showcasing overwhelming charisma. This marks his return to the small screen approximately one year after the Netflix series 'Glitch,' and he has once again chosen a webtoon-based drama. The teaser poster highlighted Manager Kim's ruthless gaze, fueled by rage as he searches for his missing daughter, signaling the prelude to a revenge action.

In the drama, the Manager Kim played by So Ji-sub appears to be an ordinary bank manager on the surface, but he is a former North-South Korean intelligence agent who was once North Korea's top wanted fugitive on a blacklist. Triggered by his daughter's disappearance, he reveals his hidden two faces, wielding guns and knives while concealing his past. So Ji-sub is expected to deliver a profound message of paternal love by simultaneously portraying the devoted father and the cold-blooded agent.

Yoon Kyung-ho plays Park Jin-chul, who was once a god of war on the battlefield but now lives a completely transformed life as the 'God of Green Fathers,' directing traffic in front of a local elementary school, adding a cheerful vitality. He expressed his ambition to deliver unpredictable fun and tension to the drama, making a strong impact with his appearance directing traffic in a Marine Veterans Association uniform.

The role of Min-ji, Manager Kim's daughter, has been cast with rookie actress Seo Soo-min. Min-ji is a high school sophomore living an ordinary life, unaware of her father's secret past as an agent. Her innocence and purity will contrast with the events that unfold, serving as a key element that adds tension and deep emotional narrative to the entire drama. Seo Soo-min expressed her honor and gratitude for participating in such a major production for her debut drama.
