Netflix 'Extracurricular' Episode 6 Review

Actor Choi Hyun-wook has shown his acting growth through the new Netflix series "The Boy at the End of the Line." "The Boy at the End of the Line" is a psychological suspense drama depicting the story that unfolds as Heo Mun-oh (played by Choi Min-sik), a failed writer and Korean literature professor, discovers the genius of Lee Kang (played by Choi Hyun-wook), a student sitting at the very end of the lecture hall, and becomes obsessed with his writing.

In the drama, Choi Hyun-wook plays Lee Kang, an engineering student who observes the world from the last row of the lecture hall. He captures Professor Heo Mun-oh's attention with his outstanding writing skills, but as the drama progresses, he becomes a character who shakes up his mentor's life. Lee Kang, who initially appeared to be a pure student, reveals a mysterious side, not easily showing his true feelings, and leads the tension of the drama.

This project became a new acting challenge for Choi Hyun-wook. He attempted a transformation with restrained acting, different from the youthful image he had shown in previous works. He showcased more delicate and deepened acting skills by expressing the psychology of a mysterious character whose emotions are not easily read through his gaze, breathing, and facial expressions alone.

Before the release of the drama, Choi Hyun-wook conveyed his efforts for the character through his agency, saying, "To complete Lee Kang, I meticulously considered everything from body posture to gaze direction to build the character's observational traits."

The chemistry with Choi Min-sik is one of the biggest viewing points of "The Boy at the End of the Line." Heo Mun-oh and Lee Kang form a relationship that goes beyond a typical professor-student dynamic, exploring and shaking each other. Choi Hyun-wook played a central role in the drama by engaging in a tense psychological battle with Choi Min-sik, and the thrilling acting synergy between the two actors heightened the drama's immersion.
