Hyerim & Shin Minchul: Love, Breakup, and Reunion Confessions

Hyelim, formerly of the group Wonder Girls, revealed behind-the-scenes stories from her dating days with her husband Shin Min-chul. In a video on the YouTube channel "No Backtalk with Tak Jae-hoon," Hyelim shared how she first met her husband, stating, "My father runs a taekwondo studio, and I met my husband for the first time when I accompanied him to a taekwondo-related gathering."

When host Tak Jae-hoon asked, "There's a story that you periodically broke up with him because you wanted to date other men. Did you not have much dating experience?" Hyelim replied, "I didn't have the cunning to date two people at once, so I would break up, briefly date someone else, and then go back to my husband, repeating this cycle."

To this, Tak Jae-hoon asked, "Do you regret coming back to your husband now?" Hyelim responded, "I got married at 27, and thinking about it now, I do feel like I could have met a wider variety of people," adding, "​I have some regrets, wishing I could have dated a rapper or a chef at least once because they seemed cool," which drew laughter.

Hyelim married Shin Min-chul, a former taekwondo athlete, in 2020 after dating for seven years. They currently have two sons.
