In the JTBC weekend drama 'The Young Chairman,' the succession war for the chairmanship of Choi Sung Group is intensifying, with much attention focused on which side Hwang Jun-hyeon, played by Lee Jun-young, will take. The drama depicts a situation where Chairman Kang Yong-ho of Choi Sung Group (Son Hyun-ju) has his soul inhabiting the body of new employee Hwang Jun-hyeon (Lee Jun-young), making his return to the chairmanship difficult. Meanwhile, his eldest daughter Kang Jae-kyung (Jeon Hye-jin) and eldest son Kang Jae-seong (Jin Goo) are engaged in a fierce battle for the chairman's seat. Adding to this, Kang Yong-ho's youngest daughter Kang Bang-geul (Lee Joo-myung) has emerged as a new succession candidate, and Na Eun-se (Lee Seo-an), Kang Jae-seong's wife and a member of the rival Taeha Group family, has also begun to reveal her ambitions.

Kang Jae-kyung and Kang Jae-seong kept each other in check and pushed forward their own businesses to secure the chairman's position. Kang Jae-seong involved his in-laws, Taeha Group, in Choi Sung Trading's port business plan, which angered Kang Yong-ho upon learning of it. Kang Yong-ho decided it would be better for Kang Jae-kyung to take over the business rights than to share Choi Sung Group's achievements with outsiders. He supported Kang Jae-kyung in seizing the business rights, thus granting her victory in the first round of the succession war.

In the second round, Hwang Jun-hyeon created a difficult situation for the twin siblings. When Kang Jae-kyung and Kang Jae-seong competed to acquire GF Solution, Hwang Jun-hyeon stimulated their competitive spirits. As a result, Kang Jae-kyung succeeded in the acquisition but suffered significant financial losses, and Kang Jae-seong, who had participated in the bidding with the backing of Taeha Group's funds, also failed to achieve his desired outcome.
