Kim Jungtae's Son Jihoo's Asperger's Diagnosis Shocks Fans

Actor Kim Jung-tae's son, Jihu, has been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome. Asperger's syndrome is a type of autism spectrum disorder characterized by normal intelligence and language development, but difficulties in social interaction and communication.

In a preview video for TV Chosun's variety show "Dad and Me," Kim Jung-tae and his wife visited a hospital for Jihu's psychological evaluation. Kim Jung-tae's wife explained that they decided to get the test because Jihu expressed a desire to attend a high school with a dormitory. Before the examination, Jihu showed concern, saying, "I think my heart will break if I hear it from the doctor."

Kim Jung-tae and his wife tried to reassure Jihu, but he expressed his discomfort with his condition being revealed, stating, "I don't like other people knowing about me." The results of the examination conducted at the hospital revealed, "It indicates that he falls under Asperger's," according to the doctor.

The doctor also shared surprising test results suggesting that Jihu is a gifted child in the top 0.5%. Among several tests, the doctor mentioned that it was the first time they had encountered a child who completed the examination as perfectly and quickly as Jihu among approximately 7,000 to 8,000 children, astonishing everyone. The doctor added that whether Jihu will disclose his Asperger's diagnosis will be an issue going forward.
