Wanna One Reunites With Wannable After 7 Years

The project group Wanna One reunited with their fandom 'Wannable' after 7 years. On April 6th, an opening ceremony event was held at the DMC Culture Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the release of Mnet Plus's new entertainment show, 'WANNA ONE GO : Back to Base'. The members stood before their fans for the first time in about 7 years since their Gocheok Dome concert in January 2019.

Nine members attended the event: Park Ji-hoon, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young, and Ha Sung-woon. Kang Daniel, who is currently serving in the military, and Lai Kuan-lin, who is staying abroad, appeared as life-sized standees. The members greeted fans while wearing school uniforms reminiscent of their time on 'Produce 101' Season 2. Hwang Min-hyun expressed his wish, saying, "I hope we can spend more time together starting from today."

Wanna One created a 'Wanna One syndrome' upon their debut in 2017, entering the Gocheok Sky Dome and achieving million-seller status with their debut album. At the time, they enjoyed immense popularity, being called 'Exo-Bang-Won' alongside 'EXO' and 'BTS'. Even after their activities ended, the members have grown and succeeded in their respective fields as solo artists, actors, and producers.

This reality program, 'WANNA ONE GO : Back to Base', chronicles the process of the members coming together again under the name 'Wanna One'. CJ ENM anticipates that this program will bring novelty and emotion to fans who have waited for a long time. Wanna One, a project group formed through an Mnet audition program, is credited with laying the foundation for 'Sangam Pop'.

The opening ceremony proceeded despite the inclement weather with rain. Fans who had secured their spots since the night before stayed with the members, undeterred by the weather. The members expressed their gratitude to the fans and looked forward to future times together. Park Woo-jin remarked, "It would have been perfect if it wasn't raining today, but I feel like even this rain has become a memory." Kim Jae-hwan sincerely stated, "I hope today is not the end, but a beginning."
