Wanna One Reunites with Wannable After 7 Years

The project group Wanna One reunited with their fandom 'Wannable' after seven years. On April 6th, an opening ceremony event was held at the DMC Cultural Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of Mnet Plus's new variety show, 'WANNA ONE GO : Back to Base.' Despite the heavy spring rain, some fans waited for the members, having secured their spots since the night before.

The nine members of Wanna One, dressed in school uniforms reminiscent of their appearance on 'Produce 101' Season 2, greeted their fans and reaffirmed their enduring bond. Hwang Minhyun said, "I hope we can spend more time together starting today." Kang Daniel, currently serving in the military, and Lai Kuanlin, residing overseas, appeared as standees.

Wanna One was an 11-member boy group formed through Mnet's 'Produce 101' Season 2, officially concluding their activities in January 2019. With the news of their reunion seven years after their disbandment, expectations for this reality show were high. The members announced their reunion with fans, sending a message that read, "We meet again as the spring breeze passes."

The opening ceremony was scheduled to begin at 10 AM but was delayed by about 20 minutes due to the rain. Despite the inclement weather, fans showed their fervent affection for Wanna One, exuding happy energy without any signs of fatigue despite waiting through the night.

The members appeared in school uniforms that brought back memories of their time on 'Produce 101 Season 2' and greeted fans warmly. Hwang Minhyun stated, "It's a shame Daniel and Kuanlin couldn't be here, but still, it feels strange and exciting. I feel nervous and amazed to be with the members. I hope we can spend more time together starting today." Park Woojin said, "It would have been perfect if it weren't for the rain today, but I think even this rain will become a memory. Thank you for coming despite the bad weather and it being a weekday. Let's make many fun memories together in the future." Kim Jaehwan expressed his sincere feelings, "I hope today is not an end but a beginning. I want to walk together, looking towards eternity rather than an end, and have even happier times." Ong Seongwu raised expectations for future concerts by saying, "If we have another chance to meet, I definitely want to meet indoors, in a more comfortable environment."
