IU Joins 'My Dearest' as Crown Princess: Behind the Scenes
IU and Byun Woo-seok revealed the reasons for joining MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'The 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife'.
At the production presentation, IU described the character Sung Hee-ju, whom she plays, as "a woman who has everything but is annoyed because she lacks status." She added that Hee-ju is a three-dimensional character with a lot of annoyance, anger, and greed, but also has a cute side. IU stated that as she read the script, the character of Hee-ju was so appealing that she decided to join 'The 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife' without hesitation.

Byun Woo-seok cited "being able to imagine well when I read the script, and empathizing with the narrative of Grand Prince Ian" as his reasons for choosing the project. He explained that he chose this drama because he wanted to passionately portray the character.
'The 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife' depicts a romance set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy in South Korea, where a woman who has everything but is annoyed because she is a commoner and a king's son who is sad because he can have nothing forge their destinies and break down social barriers. The drama is scheduled to premiere on the 10th at 9:40 PM.
