Korean Actor Yeongcheol's Wife Dies of Cancer

On the ENA and SBS Plus variety show "I Am Solo," Season 32, the 'Divorced Special,' contestant Youngchul confessed his story of losing his wife to death, shedding tears. During his introduction, Youngchul revealed that he had experienced bereavement rather than divorce, surprising the MCs.

Youngchul explained that the reason he hadn't considered new relationships was because he prioritized raising his children responsibly. He stated that he originally had no intention of appearing on the show, but his younger sister applied on his behalf, giving him the courage to participate.

He confessed that his late wife was his first love. They first met as elementary school classmates, reconnected as adults, developed into a couple, and eventually married.

Recalling their married life, Youngchul said, "My wife always cherished and supported me." However, in their ninth year of marriage, his wife was diagnosed with sarcoma, and after battling the illness, she passed away, evoking a sense of sadness.

After losing his wife, Youngchul has been raising his two children (a high school senior daughter and a middle school sophomore son) alone. He expressed gratitude that his children grew up bright and healthy, and he became emotional as he shared letters and messages of support from his children before appearing on the show.
