Korean Singers Assoc. to Lead Late Ok Hee's Funeral

The Korea Singers Association will preside over the funeral service for the late singer Ok Hee. The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on June 24th at the funeral hall of Asan Medical Center in Seoul, with the burial site at Hambaeksan Memorial Park.

The funeral service will begin with an introduction of the deceased's biography and a screening of videos from her life, followed by floral tributes and incense offering. Park Sang-chul, president of the Korea Singers Association, will read the eulogy, and an association director will deliver a memorial speech.

The Korea Singers Association stated, "For the deceased, who was a devout Christian, the service will be conducted in the format of a church sermon."

The association conveyed a message of remembrance, saying, "Late Ok Hee was a singer who dedicated herself to the development of Korean popular music, bringing emotion and comfort to countless citizens. Her legacy in the popular culture and arts scene will be remembered for a long time."
Late Ok Hee (real name Kim Kwang-sook) passed away on June 20th at the age of 73 after battling cancer. She debuted in 1968 as the leader of the five-member group Seoul Sisters and gained popularity as a solo artist from 1974 with songs such as "I Don't Know" and "Speak Only with Your Eyes."
