Ahn Youngmi Denies Foreign Birth Rumors

Entertainer Ahn Young-mi has officially clarified her plans to give birth in Korea, addressing allegations of overseas birth for her second child. Ahn Young-mi's agency, Media Lab Siso, announced that Ahn Young-mi is scheduled to give birth to her second son via C-section in Korea this coming July. Her husband, who is currently working in the United States, plans to return to Korea to be by her side during the birth.

Ahn Young-mi recently announced on her social media that she would be taking a maternity leave, temporarily stepping down from her radio DJ position. Following this news, allegations of overseas birth resurfaced online, stemming from her experience of giving birth to her first child in the U.S. in 2023. At the time, Ahn Young-mi had denied the allegations, explaining it was a choice made to facilitate childbirth and childcare with her husband.

As similar speculations arose ahead of her second birth, Ahn Young-mi's side moved to preempt unnecessary controversy by formalizing her plan to give birth in Korea. Ahn Young-mi married a non-celebrity man in 2020 and had her first son in 2023. Her second child, due soon, is also a son. Ahn Young-mi, who is currently on a break, plans to return to broadcasting activities after a healthy delivery.

Regarding Ahn Young-mi's decision to give birth to her first child in the U.S., some had raised suspicions that she was seeking benefits related to dual nationality and military service for her child. In response, Ahn Young-mi commented on social media, "​Thinking about military service already seems like a very distant future," and expressed her frustration, saying, "​Instead of speculating about the unknown future, how about sending blessings to the baby wiggling in my belly right now?" She also added, "​How could I possibly handle the precious pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, which might only happen once in a lifetime, alone? I must do it with my loving husband," emphasizing her intention to have her husband present for the birth and childcare.
