Regarding Ahn Young-mi's decision to give birth to her first child in the U.S., some had raised suspicions that she was seeking benefits related to dual nationality and military service for her child. In response, Ahn Young-mi commented on social media, "Thinking about military service already seems like a very distant future," and expressed her frustration, saying, "Instead of speculating about the unknown future, how about sending blessings to the baby wiggling in my belly right now?" She also added, "How could I possibly handle the precious pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, which might only happen once in a lifetime, alone? I must do it with my loving husband," emphasizing her intention to have her husband present for the birth and childcare.
