A fierce confrontation between Kang Jae-kyung (Jeon Hye-jin) and Hwang Jun-hyun (Lee Jun-young) unfolded in JTBC's weekend drama 'Rookie Chairman Kang'. Hwang Jun-hyun blocked Kang Jae-kyung after she left the police station following a false confession, asking, "Why are you going this far?" Kang Jae-kyung replied, "Thanks to you provoking me," and left. At that moment, Hwang Jun-hyun felt a physical anomaly and intuited that if his soul, inhabiting Chairman Kang Yong-ho's body, awakened, he and Kang Jae-kyung could help each other.

Kang Jae-kyung's actions alienated even her husband, Min Seok-do (Kwon Hae-sung). When Min Seok-do asked if she would have her biological brother, Kang Jae-sung (Jin Goo), arrested, Kang Jae-kyung warned, "If you've committed a crime, you must be punished. Don't commit any more sins against me," and urged him to leave for the U.S. with their son. Min Seok-do's move to team up with Jo Sun-hee (Yoon Yoo-sun) to awaken Chairman Kang added to the tension.

Kang Jae-kyung announced a large-scale restructuring plan involving a 20% workforce reduction within a month, assigning the task to the Strategic Planning Team. Hwang Jun-hyun, believing it was the only way to save the company, intended to accept it, but Kang Bang-geul (Lee Joo-myung) vehemently opposed it. Kang Bang-geul declared, "The sisters and brother caused the accident, so why should innocent employees suffer?" and announced she would sell her 30% stake in Choi Sung Solutions to protect the company. When Hwang Jun-hyun tried to dissuade her, saying the shares would go to Kang Jae-kyung, Kang Bang-geul shouted, "What's the difference between you and Kang Jae-kyung!" and stormed out.

Kang Jae-kyung's true scheme was revealed: the restructuring was merely a 'bait' to divert public and internal attention. Kang Jae-kyung handed over the 'hydrogen business division,' which she had prepared in the past, entirely to a rival company, Taeha Group. This was solely to exact revenge on her biological father, Chairman Kang. Upon learning this truth, Hwang Jun-hyun lamented, "I made Kang Jae-kyung a monster."

Ultimately, to save the company, Hwang Jun-hyun decided to take all the blame for the slush fund creation at Mulsan, attributing it to the currently comatose Chairman Kang Yong-ho. Upon learning this, Kang Bang-geul punched Hwang Jun-hyun and cried out, "Who are you to ruin my father's life?" but eventually accepted the condition for the greater good, leading to Kang Jae-sung's dramatic return. A full-blown war between Kang Jae-sung, who returned from the brink of crisis, and Kang Jae-kyung, who had become a monster, was foreshadowed, raising anticipation for the next episode.
