Girls' Generation Hyoyeon's 'Kissing You' Candy Story

Hyoyeon of Girls' Generation appeared on KBS CoolFM's 'Lee Suji's Gayo Plaza' for a segment covering her activities as DJ HYO and her time with Girls' Generation. Hyoyeon recently released her new song 'Punk Right Now' and expressed her interest in DJing. She explained that she has been interested in DJing for a long time and has been learning producing and DJing for about a year. Regarding DJ Blau, with whom she collaborated, she expressed her anticipation, calling him "a really famous DJ."

Recalling an episode from her music video shoot, she said, "On the coldest day, an acrylic board fell on my calf while I was on the asphalt, and it hurt, but thanks to the great atmosphere, I didn't even realize I was in pain." She shared that she felt a lot of nervousness and worry before releasing her new song, but thanks to the positive public reaction, she is "very hyped up." The Girls' Generation members also praised her new song, calling it "hip," which made her feel "truly hip." Listeners also showed a fervent response, giving her new song nicknames like 'new Suneung-banned song.'

Hyoyeon, known as the 'dance fairy,' expressed her ambition for dancing. In the past, her mindset was "I have to crush the stage with my dance," but now she worries about falling behind or losing stamina if she doesn't dance every day, and immediately heads to the practice room. Seeing many people posting dance videos on social media makes her wonder, "Is it okay for me to be like this?" She also confessed that she lacks time due to DJ practice and other activities.

Hyoyeon revealed a spoiler that she will be performing with Kisum and Minseo at a concert in November and plans to showcase synchronized choreography. She also shared the behind-the-scenes story of her DJ stage name, 'DJ HYO.' She wanted to keep the name 'Hyoyeon' but found that foreigners had difficulty pronouncing it, making it sound like 'Yo-nyeon.' Therefore, she explained that she decided to use only 'Hyo' as her stage name.

The Girls' Generation members are precious to Hyoyeon. Regarding a recent travel reality show she filmed with the members, she said, "It's comfortable and nice because it's like going with my closest friends." She also hinted at a full Girls' Generation group performance, saying, "You might be able to see it someday."
