Kim So Yeon Drama Filming Halted

JTBC's new drama 'Love's Rediscovery' will halt filming for a month to improve the quality of the production and undergo a period of reorganization. The drama is a realistic office human melodrama that depicts the process of an divorced couple living in the same house and working at the same company, getting to know each other anew. Kim So-yeon, Kim Ji-seok, Yoon Hyun-min, and Hwang Woo-seul-hye have confirmed their appearances.

This filming suspension recently sparked public concern, coinciding with the timing of major JoongAng Group affiliates, including JTBC and Contentree JoongAng, filing for receivership with the court. Some raised suspicions that it might be a ripple effect from the parent company's worsening financial situation and declaration of default.

However, the production company clarified these speculations, stating, "The script was not yet fully completed, and we decided to take a reorganization period due to the rainy season." They emphasized that the decision was made considering the drama's quality and weather conditions. The explanation is that it is a preemptive measure to secure a stable script volume and flexibly cope with filming environments during the monsoon season. Consequently, the broadcasting schedule, which aimed for the second half of this year, is expected to undergo some adjustments.

On the 14th and 15th, JoongAng Group filed for receivership with the court for five affiliates, including the holding company JoongAng Holdings, JTBC, Contentree JoongAng, JoongAng P&I, and Megabox JoongAng. The Seoul Rehabilitation Court issued 'preservation orders' and 'comprehensive prohibition orders' for these affiliates, preventing creditors from arbitrarily seizing assets or enforcing compulsory execution until the court's final decision. A representative hearing is scheduled for the 23rd.

'Love's Rediscovery' is a production co-produced by SLL, a subsidiary of Contentree JoongAng, and has garnered industry attention amidst JoongAng Group's recent financial crisis. Other dramas scheduled for the second half of the year, 'Gold Digger' and 'Final Table,' are filming normally, and the pre-produced 'The God of Beads' is reportedly in post-production.
