Hunting Dogs 2 Release Date Announced

The Netflix series 'Bloodhounds' Season 2 will be released on April 3rd. This season tells the story of Geon-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi), who took down a group of heinous loan sharks, now throwing punches against a global illegal boxing league dominated by money and violence. Season 1 gained immense popularity, immediately topping the global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list after its release, thanks to its bare-knuckle boxing action, and the friendship and bromance between the two protagonists.

Director Kim Joo-hwan stated that in Season 2, he aimed to make the friendship deeper and more intense, the action faster and stronger, and the villains more powerful and brutal. He added, "The enemies this time are stronger than in Season 1," and "Everyone realizes that to fight against evil, they sometimes have to embrace and use their own shadows. It's a story about becoming adults who can kneel to protect their families, not heroes everyone loves." He also highlighted the deepened bromance and the action scenes completed with one heart by the actors and staff as points to watch.

The relationship between the boxing duo Geon-woo and Woo-jin returns, stronger and more solid. Geon-woo, played by Woo Do-hwan, has grown from a promising boxer to a boxing champion over the past three years, but he agonizes over the situation where his loved ones are hurt by the new rival Baek-jung (Jung Ji-hoon). Woo Do-hwan said, "I wanted to show Geon-woo's growth, both physically and mentally," and "Please look forward to Geon-woo engaging in an even fiercer struggle against the more powerful villains." Lee Sang-yi, playing Woo-jin, who reliably stands by Geon-woo's side, will portray a more mature and dependable inner self than in Season 1. Lee Sang-yi requested, "There is Woo-jin's desperate action to protect his family. Please look forward to the brotherhood and bromance of blood-related siblings."

Jung Ji-hoon takes on the role of the new villain 'Baek-jung,' who will create tension in the drama by confronting Geon-woo and Woo-jin. Jung Ji-hoon described Baek-jung, the ruler of the illegal boxing league, as a 'human weapon,' and revealed his acting focus: "He's a character who feels pleasure as people feel pain. I focused on the instincts coming from within."

As 'Bloodhounds' Season 2 is set against the backdrop of a global illegal boxing league, the bare-handed bloody fight action unfolding in the octagon is a major highlight. Director Kim Joo-hwan explained, "Everything, including the lighting and camera movements, was conceived to capture the action." Stunt director Jung Sung-ho defined the action concept for Season 2 as '​crazy striking action,' adding, "We focused on utilizing a variety of boxing skills not shown in Season 1. The action this season has a particularly strong, intuitive impact."
