Uee Tries Chinese Makeup Trend
Actress Uee, formerly of the group After School, has shared an update on her attempt at Chinese "Douyin makeup." On May 19, Uee posted several photos on her social media with the caption, "Huh? Is this Shanghai Douyin makeup?"
In the revealed photos, Uee is seen getting her makeup done in China. Her face was covered in a thick layer of foundation, much lighter than her actual skin tone, which caught attention. Her expression, appearing flustered by the unexpected makeup process, also drew laughter.
"Douyin makeup" is a trending style on Chinese social media platforms, characterized by emphasizing distinct facial features and striking eyes, as if a filter has been applied.
Despite the initially unfamiliar process, the completed makeup was breathtaking. Uee perfectly pulled off the glamorous style with her small face and defined features, showcasing a different kind of charm.
Meanwhile, Uee was a swimmer during her time at a sports high school and debuted in 2009 with the group After School. She has since been actively working as an actress, appearing in dramas such as "Queen Seondeok," "Ojakgyo Brothers," "Marriage Contract," and "My Only One." Her next project will be the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Full Count," scheduled to air in 2027.
