The box office success of the movie 'The King and the Man' has led to a sharp increase in visitors to Cheongnyeongpo, the film's setting, as well as nearby tourist attractions and restaurants.
In response, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, in conjunction with the Yeongwol County Office in Gangwon Province, will conduct pre-emptive hygiene management and promote the designation of food safety zones at approximately 100 tourist sites and restaurants around Cheongnyeongpo from the 4th to the 13th.

Key inspection items include hygienic handling in food preparation areas, whether expired food is stored or used, and whether health check-ups have been conducted. In particular, considering the surge in visitors, preventive measures against food poisoning and compliance with price display regulations will be closely monitored.
Furthermore, plans are in place to designate the area around Gwanpungheon, a popular spot for 'The King and the Man' viewers, as a food safety zone.
