Hwang Jung Min Joins Uhm Tae Hwa's New Film

Actor Hwang Jung-min is expected to appear in Director Uhm Tae-hwa's new film, tentatively titled 'A Good House to Live In.' Hwang Jung-min was initially scheduled to film Director Ryoo Seung-wan's '​Veteran 3,' but due to Director Ryoo's health issues causing a delay in the filming schedule, he began considering the new project by Director Uhm Tae-hwa. 'A Good House to Live In' is known to be a horror genre film and is slated to begin filming as early as the first half of this year.

Director Uhm Tae-hwa has established himself as a director recognized for both commercial success and critical acclaim, moving from the independent film scene with works like 'Ingtoogi' (2013), 'Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned' (2016), and 'Concrete Utopia' (2023).

Hwang Jung-min has recently concluded his run in the musical 'Mrs. Doubtfire' and is awaiting the release of Director Na Hong-jin's 'Hope' and the Netflix film 'Cross 2.' He is also expected to join 'Veteran 3,' continuing his active career.

Meanwhile, there are reports that actor Kang Dong-won is also positively considering a role in Director Uhm Tae-hwa's new film, '​Vanishing Time.' 'Vanishing Time' tells the story of a group of children who enter a cave, with only one girl returning alive, and one of the disappeared boys reappearing as an adult.

Various movies are scheduled to be broadcast during the Chuseok holiday period. From September 13th to 18th, films such as 'Dog Days,' 'Decibel,' 'Wuxia,' 'The Houseguest and My Mother,' 'Switch,' 'Armageddon,' 'Citizen Deok-hee,' 'Brave Citizen,' 'Detective K: Secret of the Virtuous Widow,' 'Honest Candidate 2,' 'The Host,' 'The Roundup,' 'The Admiral: Roaring Currents,' 'Past Lives,' 'Tune in for Love,' 'The Grand Heist,' 'Smugglers,' 'Concrete Utopia,' 'Target,' 'Honey Sweet,' 'Single in Seoul,' 'Alienoid' Part 1 and 2, 'Dream,' 'Noryang: Deadly Sea,' '12.12: The Day,' and 'The Point Men' have been scheduled on channels including tvN, KBS2, EBS, SBS, Channel A, MBC, and JTBC. Notably, '12.12: The Day' depicts the 9 hours spent trying to prevent the rebellion of the new military forces in Seoul on December 12, 1979, and is the first Korean film to be based on the 12.12 military coup.
