The movie 'The King and the Man' is on the verge of surpassing 16 million cumulative viewers. According to the Korean Film Council's Integrated Network of Admissions on the 3rd, 'The King and the Man' attracted 39,305 viewers the previous day, maintaining its #1 position at the box office. The cumulative number of viewers stands at 15,821,426, leaving approximately 180,000 viewers until the 16 million mark.
Released on February 4th, 'The King and the Man' continues to be popular in its 9th week of release. It has climbed to 3rd place in the all-time movie box office rankings, following 'The Admiral: Roaring Currents' (17.61 million viewers) and 'Extreme Job' (16.26 million viewers). Its cumulative revenue reached 152.6 billion won, ranking it first among domestic films released in Korea.

The movie 'The King and the Man' is set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457 and tells the story of village chief Eom Heung-do (played by Yoo Hae-jin), who volunteers to be exiled for the prosperity of his village, and the young former king Yi Hong-wi (played by Park Ji-hoon), who was dethroned and exiled.
