Baek Sung-hyun, New Male Lead for "Eyes of Dawn"
Actor Baek Sung-hyun will take on the role of Choi Dae-chi, the male lead in the musical 'Eyes of Dawn,' and will appear on stage starting in March.
The musical 'Eyes of Dawn' is based on the drama of the same name, which aired on MBC in 1989 and recorded a peak viewership rating of 58.4%. The musical, which premiered in 2019, condenses the original drama into six acts and covers modern Korean history from the Japanese colonial period to the Korean War.

Baek Sung-hyun has been cast as Choi Dae-chi and will share the role with Kim Jun-hyun and Jeong Si-wook in a triple casting. The production company Next Sketch stated regarding Baek Sung-hyun's addition, "Choi Dae-chi is a character where acting is crucial, and the original actor Choi Jae-sung highly praised Baek Sung-hyun, saying his synchronization is 100%." Baek Sung-hyun is currently busy filming the KBS 2TV historical drama 'King Munmu' and plans to continue his active career, moving between musicals and dramas until 2026. This marks his return to the stage after nine years, since his role in the 2017 play 'Josee, the Tiger and the Fish.'
The musical 'Eyes of Dawn' opened on the 24th and will be performed at the Converse Stage Arena Yeomyeong in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, until April 26th. In addition to Baek Sung-hyun as Choi Dae-chi, the cast includes Park Jung-ah and Jeong Myeong-eun as Yoon Yeo-ok, Song Yong-jin, Park Jin-woo, and Kim Jin-woo as Jang Ha-rim, and Jo Nam-hee, Hong Seo-joon, and Noh Woo-jin as Yoon Hong-cheol.
