Bae Seongwoo Blackouts for 2 Seconds on Set

Actor Bae Seong-woo revealed a thrilling experience he had while filming the movie 'The Roundup: Punishment'. He had a period of self-reflection following his drunk driving incident in 2020 and is now returning to the screen after six years with 'The Roundup: Punishment'. Bae Seong-woo shared his feelings, saying, "It's been so long that I feel awkward and nervous."

'The Roundup: Punishment' is a crime action comedy about a detective demoted to a rural area who returns to Seoul with a rookie detective to catch the real culprit of a murder case. Bae Seong-woo plays the role of Seo Jae-hyuk, a veteran detective.

He revealed that during the filming of 'The Roundup: Punishment', while engaged in a fierce physical fight with his co-star during the ending action scene, he was choked and momentarily experienced a blackout, losing his memory for 1-2 seconds. Recalling the situation, he said, "They told me I had fainted for a moment," and jokingly added that his co-star seemed to be enjoying himself, fully immersed in his role.

'The Roundup: Punishment' was originally scheduled for release in 2021, but its release was postponed by about seven years due to a combination of factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Bae Seong-woo's drunk driving incident. Regarding this, Bae Seong-woo expressed his apologies for the film, stating, "No matter how much I apologize, I believe it's insufficient." He added, "Nevertheless, I am relieved and grateful that it is finally being released."

Regarding his future life, Bae Seong-woo said, "I try to live as flexibly as possible, but also cautiously. If something is forbidden, I just won't do it." He mentioned that his thoughts on acting haven't changed much and expressed his hope that audiences would feel enjoyment, much like hearing an interesting story through a work.
