K-drama Star Lee Junho Cast as Viking Heir

Actor Lee Jun-ho is positively considering appearing in the new series 'Viking' as his next project. 'Viking' is a story that depicts the hidden succession war within a Korean chaebol family and the internal struggle for the throne of a multi-billion dollar family business.

In the drama, Lee Jun-ho is expected to play the role of 'Han Ji-yeol', the third-generation heir of a chaebol family, who is a corporate risk analysis expert and a cold strategist. He will be portrayed as being in competition with his uncle, 'Han Tae-jun', who plays the villain role, and the intense confrontation between these two characters will be a major point of the drama. Actor Ju Ji-hoon is currently positively considering the role of 'Han Tae-jun', and this would be the first time the two actors would work together on a project.

Starting with the resurgence of his song 'Our House' during his military service, Lee Jun-ho has achieved consecutive box office successes with MBC's 'The Red Sleeve' (2021), JTBC's 'King the Land' (2023), tvN's 'Typhoon Corporation', and the Netflix series 'Cashero', establishing himself as a 'trustworthy actor' and a 'guaranteed box office hit'. He recently successfully completed his 'Typhoon Corporation' fan meeting tour and proved his global influence as major global media outlets, including the American business publication Forbes, highlighted his activities.

Although he was initially scheduled to film 'Veteran 3' as his screen comeback project in the first half of this year, due to director Ryoo Seung-wan's health issues, filming has been temporarily postponed, and it appears that 'Viking' will be filmed first.

'Viking' will be directed by director Jo Sung-hee, who helmed the films 'A Werewolf Boy' and 'Space Sweepers', with script by writer Lee Shin-ho, and Mister Romance in charge of production. Filming is scheduled to begin in April, and the broadcasting platform is currently being discussed with global OTT platforms.
