Ahn Sung-jae returns to 2-star rank, maintaining dual stars
As the 'Michelin Guide' announced its new star restaurants, the popularity of chefs who have gained recognition through broadcasting was palpable. Notably, Chef Ahn Sung-jae's restaurant 'Mosu' earned 2 Michelin stars in the 2026 edition, and Chef Son Jong-won maintained 1 Michelin star for both restaurants he leads, 'L'Amant Secret' and 'Itanic Garden', keeping his 'double-star chef' title.
Although Chef Ahn Sung-jae returned to 2 stars from 3 stars, expectations are high for a 'return to 3 stars' given his re-entry into the top tier after a period of absence. In his acceptance speech, he stated, "We are contemplating our identity and the direction the restaurant is heading more than the number of stars." The Michelin Guide praised 'Mosu' as ">a place that delivers joy through imagination, precision, and balance."
