Kespyon Challenges New Business in Film Beauty
KespiOn is entering new businesses to improve its reliance on Samsung's sales and diversify its business portfolio. Leveraging the film and fabric manufacturing technology previously used for mobile phone antenna production, the company is entering the hydrocolloid-based acne patch market.
Lee Yeon-soo, CEO of KespiOn, stated, "It is difficult to achieve sustainable growth with a structure that relies 90% of its sales on Samsung," adding, "Securing new revenue streams while maintaining existing business is the core challenge."

KespiOn explained that the high-precision processing technology required for smartphone antenna module production can be applied to the acne patch manufacturing process. This is because the process of implementing patterns on film and applying adhesion and coating is similar to acne patch manufacturing.

KespiOn acquired 100% of the related company MBTB through a 2 billion won capital increase and has established production facilities and automated lines. CEO Lee said, "We have been preparing for nearly two years, from machine design to production and testing, and we have upgraded the automation level to enable the production of thinner and more precise products."
Acne patch deliveries to a global cosmetics company are scheduled to begin in May, with the company aiming for 10 billion won in sales next year and 20 billion won the year after. KespiOn anticipates expanding its business beyond acne patches to include blemish patches and highlights its cost competitiveness through in-house fabric production as a strength.
