Trot Star Jung Dong Won Joins Marines

Singer Jeong Dong-won's recent status after enlisting in the Marine Corps has been captured. On April 2nd, the Marine Corps 1327th basic training graduation ceremony was broadcast live through the official YouTube channel of the Defense Media Agency KFN, where Jeong Dong-won's appearance was revealed. Jeong Dong-won, caught on camera, drew attention with his more mature and dignified appearance than before.

Jeong Dong-won enlisted in the Marine Corps Training Command on February 23rd and is faithfully fulfilling his military duty. His agency, Showplay Entertainment, stated that Jeong Dong-won's enlistment in the Marine Corps was "a decision made according to a long-held aspiration of Jeong Dong-won," conveying that it was a responsible choice to keep a promise to himself, as he had always had a dream of joining the Marines. The agency requested warm support for Jeong Dong-won to healthily complete his military service and return with a more mature demeanor.

Prior to his enlistment, Jeong Dong-won released the remake mini-album ‘Sopumjip Vol.2’ on February 5th, and on February 13th, he held a fan concert ‘​The Road to Meet Again Tomorrow, Crossing Today’ at KINTEX in Ilsan, having his last meeting with fans. This fan concert concluded successfully with all seats sold out.

Jeong Dong-won, born in 2007, is 19 years old this year and gained public recognition through TV Chosun's 'Tomorrow is Mr. Trot'. He is scheduled to serve as an active duty soldier for 18 months and is expected to be discharged on August 22, 2027.
