BTS, Empathizing with the Arirang Melody

BTS has spread the melody of 'Arirang' across the globe by releasing an animation that conveys the message of their new album, 'Arirang.' This video was inspired by the first recorded version of 'Arirang' in 1896 and begins with the tune of 'Arirang,' Korea's representative folk song, flowing out. The video interweaves scenes of seven young men in the past recording 'Arirang' and introducing it to foreign lands with modern-day BTS passionately performing at a concert, highlighting BTS's journey of delivering hope and comfort through music.

Big Hit Music stated, "We wanted to share the story behind 'Arirang' with those who may not be familiar with it. We hope many people will look up the lyrics of 'Arirang' and empathize with the unique Korean sentiment embedded in the song." Along with the release of this animation, BTS also unveiled their group photos for the new album 'Arirang' for the first time.

BTS will release their fifth full-length album, 'Arirang,' on March 20th, and the following day, the 21st, they will hold 'BTS Comeback Live: Arirang' around Gwanghwamun Square. This live performance is scheduled to be broadcast live worldwide through Netflix.

The name 'Arirang' embodies the deep longing and enduring sentiment alongside our nation's sad history, and it contains the will to overcome sorrow and move towards a happy future.
