SBS and Dongducheon City Sign MOU for Regional Revitalization

SBS and Dongducheon City have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for regional revitalization. Both parties have pledged to collaborate on ▲ revitalizing local commercial districts and regenerating spaces, ▲ expanding tourism and cultural opportunities for Dongducheon citizens, and ▲ planning content that leverages regional characteristics.

Based on this agreement, SBS will launch 'Our Town's Golden Age,' a reality program for a 'Regional Regeneration Project' in August. This program aims to breathe new life into neighborhoods losing vitality due to population decline and regional extinction.

Lee Kyung-kyu, Young Tak, DinDin, and Chef Lee Won-il will appear on 'Our Town's Golden Age.' They will discover the charms of various regions and present F&B content based on their experiences and expertise. Additionally, experts from various fields, including architects, landscape architects, and startup consultants, will also participate.

The program is scheduled to tour various locations across the country, including Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province. Notably, it will undertake a large-scale project to transform Dongducheon's 'Yuk Town,' a meat brand building, into a complex cultural space that will become the center of Sooyosan tourism. The core objective is to stimulate desire to visit through the development of Dongducheon's signature content and to create a space where people want to stay.

Dongducheon Mayor Park Hyeong-deok stated, "We have made a decision for the future, trusting in SBS's content production capabilities." He added, "I am delighted to take this important first step in regenerating the long-unused Yuk Town building into a tourism hub for the Sooyosan area. We will provide all administrative support necessary."
