Kim Sook's 220-pyeong National Heritage Home in Jeju

Comedian Kim Sook began a remodeling project for her house in Jeju Island, but faced difficulties when it was revealed that the house is located in a national cultural heritage zone.

Kim Sook visited Jeju Island with workers Lee Chun-hee and Paikga to create a shared house spanning approximately 727 square meters. The house, which had been neglected for 10 years, was in a dire state, filled with mold and collapsed ceilings, to the point where it was described as "looking like ghosts would come out."

When Kim Sook visited the Jeju Provincial Office for remodeling permits, she received the shocking news that the house was designated as a cultural heritage protection zone, specifically a national heritage cultural protection zone. This meant it would receive a level of protection similar to Gyeongbok Palace.

Furthermore, traces of Neolithic sites were discovered near Kim Sook's house, raising the possibility that construction could be delayed by more than six months due to excavation work.

Feeling overwhelmed by the construction permit process and the possibility of artifact excavation, Kim Sook asked the production crew, "Can I get it scheduled for next year?"
