Late Actor Lee Sang-bo's Family Struggles and False Accusations

Actor Lee Sang-bo has suddenly passed away, and his family history, which was revealed during a past drug use accusation, is being re-examined. Lee Sang-bo was found dead at his home in Pyeongtaek the previous day at the age of 44. Police are investigating the cause of death, finding no signs of criminal activity.

Born in 1981, Lee Sang-bo debuted in 2006 and appeared in various productions. However, in 2022, he experienced an incident where he was arrested on drug use accusations. At the time, Lee Sang-bo denied the charges, stating it was due to the ingredients in his antidepressant medication.

Subsequently, precise examination results from the National Forensic Service showed that the morphine component, which had tested positive in a preliminary reagent test, was not detected. Only ingredients from tranquilizers for anxiety symptoms and antidepressants were confirmed, and Lee Sang-bo was cleared of charges and not indicted after approximately 20 days.

During this period, Lee Sang-bo revealed his longing and loneliness for his family on his social media, stating, "​I have no family to spend the holidays with." He added, "Burying loved ones in my heart was never easy. That's why I relied more on tranquilizers, and now I've become a weak person who can't help but feel depressed without them."

After the decision not to indict him, Lee Sang-bo appeared on a radio show and explained the situation at the time, stating that he drank beer with his usual tranquilizers due to his longing for family and loneliness. He also revealed that the tranquilizers he was taking were found during a search of his home after his emergency arrest.
