Park Jihoon's "Love Story" Hits 15 Million Views

To celebrate the film 'The King and the Man' surpassing 15 million viewers, unpublished photos of actor Park Ji-hoon, who played King Danjong, from when he was 17 years old have been released. Park Ji-hoon's agency, YY Entertainment, posted several photos on their official Instagram with the caption, "17-year-old Park Ji-hoon, thank you to the 15 million viewers." In the released photos, Park Ji-hoon shows his appearance as a 17-year-old high school student with a youthful face, clear eyes, and a cute expression.

'The King and the Man' surpassed 15 million viewers on the afternoon of its 50th day of release, continuing its box office success. The film, set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, tells the story of a village chief who volunteers to be exiled for the prosperity of his village and a young former king who was dethroned and exiled. Director Jang Hang-jun's delicate direction and the actors' excellent performances combined to resonate with all generations.

'The King and the Man' has secured the 3rd spot on the all-time Korean film box office ranking. After surpassing 14 million viewers in 45 days of release on the 20th, it sequentially surpassed 'Ode to My Father' (14.25 million viewers), which was 4th in box office history, and 'Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds' (14.41 million viewers), which was 3rd. The remaining records are 'Extreme Job' (16.26 million viewers) in 2nd place and 'The Admiral: Roaring Currents' (17.61 million viewers) in 1st place.

Park Ji-hoon, who played the role of King Danjong Yi Hong-wi in 'The King and the Man', his commercial film debut, achieved the title of a '10 million viewer actor' by completing the 'Danjong Syndrome'. He will hold his fan meeting 'Same Place' on April 25th and 26th at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul, and will release his first single album 'RE:FLECT' on April 29th.
