Director Jang Hang-jun's 'Rebound' Re-released
The movie 'The Man Who Lived with the King' has set a new box office record by surpassing 10 million viewers, solidifying its position as the highest-grossing film of 2026. This marks the first 10-million-viewer film in approximately two years since 'The Roundup: Punishment' in 2024, bringing renewed energy to the cinema industry.
Significant milestones were also achieved by the lead actors. Yoo Hae-jin celebrated his fifth 10-million-viewer film, while Yoo Ji-tae experienced his first 10-million-viewer film of his acting career. Park Ji-hoon earned the title of a 10-million-viewer actor with his debut commercial film.

Released in 2023, 'Rebound' was based on the true story of the Busan Central High School basketball team that reached the national finals in 2012. However, it only garnered approximately 700,000 viewers, resulting in a disappointing box office performance.
Director Jang Hang-jun candidly shared his feelings about the box office failure of 'Rebound' during a past variety show appearance. He expressed, "It was a project I had prepared for five years, and I was devastated seeing the audience numbers on the opening day," comparing his despair to that of a farmer whose year's harvest is ruined.
