Korean Film 'King and the Man' Hits 14.57 Million Viewers, Ranks 3rd All-Time

'King and the Man' is now the 3rd highest-grossing Korean film ever with 14.57 million viewers, surpassing previous records. The distributor, Showbox, announced the news with a new poster and the tagline, "A story history tried to erase in 1457, but 14.57 million viewers are recording."

This achievement places 'King and the Man' behind only 'The Admiral: Roaring Currents' (17.61 million) and 'Extreme Job' (16.26 million). The film tells the story of Prince Suyang, the deposed King Danjong, as he spends his final days among villagers during his exile.

Directed by Jang Hang-jun and starring Ryu Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, and Yoo Ji-tae, the film garnered attention as the first Korean movie to center on the story of King Danjong, the 6th king of the Joseon Dynasty.
