K-Drama Actor Kim Kyung Nam Shows Complex Role in 'Doctor Lawyer'

In the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Doctor Lawyer,' Kim Kyung Nam showcased a complex character as Yang Do Kyung, the representative of the law firm Taebek. Especially after his father's appearance, he revealed a new side, adding tension to the drama.

After losing to Shin Sung Woo (played by Lee Seung Woo), Do Kyung maintained his composure instead of anger, even with the crucial hard drive evidence handed over to the police by Han Na Young (played by Lee Som). He took ruthless action against Na Young, who spoke of self-reflection, saying, "You'll be moving rooms soon, get out."

However, he showed a completely different attitude during a video call with his father and chairman, Yang Byung Il (played by Choi Kwang Il). Do Kyung deliberately maintained a bright face in front of Byung Il, forcing a smile even when reprimanded. But after the call ended, he revealed his emotional turmoil by breaking a meticulously crafted toy, hinting at their strained relationship.

Later, Do Kyung visited the detention center to meet Jo Ki Chul (played by Park Ki Deok), the boss of the Ohsung gang who ordered the destruction of evidence. He exploded in anger, comparing Jo Ki Chul's actions to a 'dog that only ate meat and was not loyal.' When Jo Ki Chul claimed Shin Sung Woo was Lee Kang Poong, Do Kyung harbored doubts about Shin Sung Woo's identity and ordered an investigation into the law firm, escalating the tension.

Kim Kyung Nam realistically portrayed the character of Yang Do Kyung with his delicate acting. He expressed his suppressed inner self through restrained emotions and rapidly changing facial expressions, meticulously depicting the hidden side of a seemingly perfect law firm representative who shrinks in front of his father. Expectations are high for his future performances.
