**Wangsa Nam**, the 34th film to reach 10 million viewers

The film 'The Man Who Lived with the King' surpassed 10 million viewers in 32 days of its release, marking its place as the 34th film in domestic release history and the 25th Korean film to reach the '10 million viewer' milestone. This is the sixth film to achieve this since the COVID-19 pandemic and the third single film after '12.12: The Day' and 'Exhuma'. Director Jang Hang-jun has now joined the ranks of '10 million directors' in his 24th year since his debut.

The movie depicts the story of King Danjong, who was exiled after being betrayed by his uncle during the Joseon Dynasty, and his encounter with the village chief Eom Heung-do in Cheongnyeongpo, Yeongwol, Gangwon Province. Yoo Hae-jin played the role of Eom Heung-do, and Park Ji-hoon took on the role of King Danjong, with Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, Lee Joon-hyuk, and Ahn Jae-hong also appearing. Park Ji-hoon became a '10 million actor' with his debut film, while this is Yoo Hae-jin's fifth 10 million film, and Yoo Ji-tae's first experience with a '10 million film' since his debut.

'The Man Who Lived with the King' has shown an unprecedented box office trend with steadily increasing weekend viewership, starting with 760,000 viewers on its opening weekend. The number of viewers increased to 950,000 in the second week, 1.41 million in the third week, and 1.75 million in the fourth week. If this trend continues, it is expected that the film may surpass the viewership of '12.12: The Day'.

Among the reasons for the film's box office success, the actors' deeply immersive and passionate performances are highlighted. In particular, not only the lead performances of Yoo Hae-jin and Park Ji-hoon but also the acting of Yoo Ji-tae and Jeon Mi-do received critical acclaim. Furthermore, the film's handling of a tragic historical story and its positioning as a 'family film' suitable for the Lunar New Year holiday and public holidays also contributed to its success.

With 'The Man Who Lived with the King' drawing 10 million viewers, tourism in the Yeongwol region, where the movie is set, has also significantly increased. A representative from Cheongnyeongpo mentioned that the number of tourists has increased 16-17 times compared to last year, with approximately 4,000 visitors on weekends.
