Lee Ki-taek, Han Ji-min's Black Knight Romance

Actor Lee Ki-taek has raised the romantic tension by acting as Han Ji-min's knight in shining armor in the JTBC weekend drama "The Efficient Relationship of Single Men and Women."

In the drama, Ji-soo (played by Lee Ki-taek) revealed his true feelings for Ui-young (played by Han Ji-min) and was seen saving her at every moment of crisis. When they encountered each other at a restaurant and Ui-young was on the verge of discovering his identity, Ji-soo calmly expressed his playful jealousy by saying, "Send me a signal if you don't like it."

Later, after overhearing a blind date talking badly about Ui-young, Ji-soo put on a performance of a younger man who was abandoned and clinging to Ui-young, delivering a satisfying counterattack to the rude man. He even resorted to a physical fight to protect Ui-young's pride, but he couldn't tell the truth to the confused Ui-young, only making excuses and causing conflict.

Ultimately, Ji-soo followed Ui-young and conveyed his true feelings by honestly revealing his real name, profession, and age. He handed her a ticket to his play, saying, "​Please take it. This is like my ID. I don't want to be completely fake to you," but Ui-young did not appear at the performance, evoking a sense of regret.

Lee Ki-taek convincingly portrayed Ji-soo's subtle emotional journey between lies and truth with his unexaggerated, natural acting. He conveyed the character's emotions with just brief glances and facial expressions, simultaneously heightening the drama's excitement and tension. His "​cold on the outside, warm on the inside" demeanor, where he appears gruff but secretly cares for Ui-young, added to the character's charm.
