Park Hae Soo Stars in New ENA Drama 'Scarecrow'
Park Hae-soo to Return to the Small Screen After Approximately 5 Years with ENA's New Monday-Tuesday Drama 'Scarecrow'
'Scarecrow' tells the story of a detective investigating the true culprit of a serial murder case who, through an unexpected partnership with someone he despises, gets closer to the truth. The drama spans 30 years, from 1988 to 2019, depicting the truth-seeking process of two men entangled by ill fate and hatred.
Park Hae-soo will play Kang Tae-joo, an ace detective who pursues truth and justice. Kang Tae-joo possesses persistent observation skills and sharp intuition, but after being demoted to his hometown, Kangsung, he takes on a serial murder case. He reunites with Cha Si-young (played by Lee Hee-joon), the prosecutor in charge and someone with whom he had a past animosity from their school days, finding himself in a dilemma of wanting to catch someone he wants to kill, but also needing to catch them. In the released still cuts, Park Hae-soo heightens anticipation for the character with his free-spirited style and charismatic gaze.

Regarding his reason for choosing the project, Park Hae-soo stated, "I was very curious about the power of the story and the weight Kang Tae-joo carries as he encounters and endures the case." He described Kang Tae-joo as "a character who is confident in himself, tries to understand the pain of the victims, and strives to live in defiance of injustice." He revealed his deep affection for the character, saying, "I was drawn to his willingness to accept and confront his wavering, weaknesses, and shortcomings."

'Scarecrow' boasts high quality through the collaboration of Director Park Joon-woo, who delivered genre thrills in 'The Fiery Priest' and 'Crash', and writer Lee Ji-hyun of 'The Fiery Priest'. Unlike his recent activities primarily focused on Netflix original series, Park Hae-soo will meet viewers on television after a long hiatus with this project.
The drama will premiere on the 20th of next month at 10 PM on ENA, and will also be available on KT Genie TV and TVING.
