Lee Sang-bo's Family Requests Private Funeral

Tragic news has been reported of the sudden passing of actor Lee Sang-bo, with his agency Korea Management Group (KMG) stating a non-disclosure of the cause of death. The agency requested understanding, explaining that it is difficult to reveal the cause of death at the family's request.

The funeral parlor has been set up in Room 3 at Pyeongtaek Central Funeral Hall, but the policy is to politely decline any media coverage or visits to protect the bereaved family. The Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Police confirmed that Lee Sang-bo was found deceased at his home by his family and is investigating the exact circumstances of his death, finding no signs of foul play. Lee Sang-bo was 45 years old.

All posts on Lee Sang-bo's social media accounts have been deleted, adding to the sadness. Born in 1981, he debuted in the 2006 KBS 2TV drama 'The Invisible Man, Choi Jang-soo' and subsequently appeared in numerous works such as 'The Golden Age of My Wives', 'Ugly Love', 'Private Lives', 'Miss Montecristo', and 'Elegant Empire'.

In the past, Lee Sang-bo was apprehended by police on drug charges, but it was revealed to be false, and he went through a difficult period. In September 2022, police responded to a report of a man appearing intoxicated running down the street and arrested him. A preliminary drug test showed a positive result for 'morphine'. However, Lee Sang-bo denied the charges, claiming it was due to his depression medication. His primary physician also emphasized through a medical certificate that he was taking antidepressants and tranquilizers, not illegal narcotics. The police requested an analysis from the National Forensic Service, and Lee Sang-bo received a "no charges filed" disposition for "lack of evidence" after approximately 20 days.

Following this, Lee Sang-bo returned in the 2023 KBS drama 'Elegant Empire' and had planned to continue his activities by signing an exclusive contract with his current agency, Korea Management Group, last year. The funeral for the deceased is scheduled to be held on the 29th.
